I'm considering tossing measurements. I've tried a lot of different methods, and after my caliper readings were becoming unrealistic I swapped to the scales. Well, this morning I found out that in the bathroom the scales were uneven and gave an innacurate reading. After moving the scales to the hallway floor which I made sure was completely flat, it gave a different reading than in the bathroom.
It's discouraging, all the measurements I have taken the past few months have been innacurate, probably explaining how my weight seems to jump all over the place. I'm considering dropping every measurement apart from the visual photograph on the 4th of each month.
Bathroom weighing - 91kg
Hallway weighing - 95.7kg.
I am still following my calorie intake guide, my cardio has been a bit poor this week though. I am lifting weights 3x a week and I have been doing that diligently.

Ups & Downs
Scales today said 97.5kg, compared to 92kg from last week. I'm not really sure what to think anymore, I have been eating around 2000 calories each day and doing daily cardio (skipping rope and started C25K) and also weight lifting 3 times a week. Some days I even had less than 2000 calories, maybe 1800 because I was just too tired and went to bed before eating any more.
So I'm considering using a measuring tape to measure my waist circumference to try and get the most accurate reading of my progress. I might measure other parts of my body also.
I will also try to improve the quality of my calories, I haven't been making all of my meals, and sometimes I will have something from a can. But I still have the same amount of calories at the end of the day.

Dirty "P" Word
I seem to have hit a weight plateau as it were. I am still counting calories, and am doing the same amount of cardio. I have also accounted for my weight loss so far and my new TDEE reflects that. I have been stuck around 89/90kg for the past couple of weeks.
However, all is not lost. I will continue as i have since August, until I see progress. I may try to make my cardio more intense, it seems 20 mins of jump rope doesn't tire me as much as it used to, so I will either have to go for longer or skip harder. I get bored of skipping around the 20 minute mark however so going for 30 mins may be a bit tough on the willpower.
I picked up a pair of solid old metal dumbells from an antique shop today, and I was quite happy when a friend told me he saw some. The pair set me back $55. I wonder who has used them in the past. They are quite old from the looks of it and they have rust, but that just adds character! I think paying an absolute premium for brand spanking new weights is ridiculous. I had a look in Big W at the weights, and they had those synthetic ones, for around $10 for 2.5kg, or a 2.5kg plate for $7, and the price just skyrocketed from there.
The dumbbells I bought have two 5kg plates each, two 2.5kg plates each, and two 1.5kg plates each. Much better value in my opinion, as a new set of dumbells and bars would probably add up to over $100.
So to break through this plateau I will now do some weight lifting, so tonight after cardio I will load up some of Scooby's videos and read some of his pages on dumbbell exercises and get started! I imagine my weight may increase from the added muscle mass provided I eat right anyhow.
Cardio did suffer this past week as I came down with something and jumping around aggravated my headache and I felt not nice all over.

Progress Report 8/10/11
Weighed in today at around 93kg.
A bit more than my last weight in, which is a shame. Still, last week's weight loss was a lot so I am not too upset. This past week has been a bit relaxed, I did no cardio for about 3 days, as I went to Sydney with a couple of friends, and due to this I also relaxed my calorie counting. I tried to stay on top of things though but it seems it may have slipped.
Then again, it could be the scales gone bad, I think last week was a loss of 10kg which doesn't seem right at all.
Ah well, I will just tighten things up and observe!
Edit: Or it could be increased muscle mass!
